Simple and effective. Richard Surtees Mk6 Golf GTi looks stunning with just a simple drop on the original 18” Monza’s. I expect big things from this man.

Every now and then you’ll be browsing the internet and spot something that will gob smack you. Stop you and leave you staring for far too long.. Well that’s exactally what happened to me when I stumbled across Jack Smith’s US inspired Mk1 Golf. Originally starting life as a 1.1 Golf C, Jack’s installed a 1.6 GTD into it whilst winding up the boost and fuelling at the same time. Sitting pretty perfect on BBS RM012’s 15x7’s at the front and 15x8’s on the rear with 165/50 tyres all round. The Chassis has been notched and the bumpstops/helper springs removed to get it as low as possible. Really do love this Mk1, well done Jack.

It’s about time i pulled my finger out and did a feature on here! And what better car to feature than Louie Lam’s Mk4 Golf. This has always been one of my favourite Mk4s, its so simple and really works. The US style on Mk4s works brilliantly and Louie has really pulled it off! The real talking point is those wheels though, 17” BBS 301 RS’s 8.5’s and 9.5’s, with an et28, they sit perfectly. alot of work has been taken to get it this low aswell, and it really pays off! 2 coils removed and chopped up bumpstops and lower topmounts, this car has an awesome stance. Louie also wants me to point out he’s lower than Leigh Collier!
Fantastic work Louie

So I finally sold the Golf last week, but it’s gone to a good home. Also purchased the replacement.. A 2007 Polo GTi, and finally dropped it the other night on Ebay’s finest.

I’ve been meaning to feature Mike Hurst’s Polo for a while now, but never really got round to it.. Well now is the time, and seen as the car is unfortunately up for sale it seems a good time to do so. Most of you will know the car, and the owner.. I like both. The car sits on 16x7 BBS 147’s re-drilled to 4x100 and AP coilovers all round. The chassis has been ‘self notched’ by the drive shaft as well.
Good work Mike, sad to see her go.

I first met James Merriman and his Bora only a couple of months ago now.. Every time I see it I love it more and more. Simple yet affective, sat perfect on white 9 and 10 inch wide Volks Racing wheels. Arches rolled, engine spaced, chassis notched.. The list goes on to get it sitting this well and still be his daily.
Love it James.

Here we have Leigh Collier’s Mk4 Golf. I’ve got to know him more and more over the past few months and he’s such a nice guy with a seriously sick car. In the build up to Edition 38 Leigh purchased a set of Genuine LM’s off a Mexican and drove 3 hours to mine to collect a set of 195/45 R17 Goodyears. Next time I saw the car at Edition the wheels had transformed it. Sat on chopped up coilovers all round it sits seriously low and I think looks awesome.
Good work Leigh. <3

William gave me the honour handing me the keys to his Cabby over the weekend and let me drive it. To say this thing is low is an understatement. Stepping into it is basically just like stepping back onto the ground. Got badly beached within half a metre of moving forwards it’s seriously mental. Still his daily as well
